Heads up people.  This one is a hot one.

Feel free to review the news posting.  But then take a look further downward.  We (at BLMYC) went so far as to post the contractor’s license information.  Apparently his license expired a few times, and he’s be doing business as  Fawcett Homes Inc.

Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Holmes County man has been arrested for defrauding the Florida Medicaid program out of more than $33,000. Robert Greenlee, owner of Greenlee and Sons Construction in Bonifay, was arrested today by officers with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant from the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Fraud levels fall for construction industry, but companies still losing $6.4 million on average

The global construction, engineering and infrastructure industry saw a significant decline in fraud activity with companies losing an average of $6.4 million over the last three years, according to the latest edition of the Kroll Annual Global Fraud Report, released today at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s 2009 Annual Meeting in Boston.  This new figure represents less than half of last year’s amount of $14.2 million.   Construction, engineering, and infrastructure companies registered a below average loss compared to other sectors, with the financial services industry being hit hardest by fraud over the past 12 months.  The findings are the result of a survey Kroll commissioned from the Economist Intelligence Unit of more than 700 senior executives worldwide….

Construction scam artist steals $3,000 from St. Rose couple

A St. Rose couple was scammed out of $3,000 for home renovation work last month, but the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has a lead, because the victims persuaded the man to pose for a photo.

The victims responded to a brochure for a company called Renovate International that was placed in their mailbox.
