New Dallas County jail tower’s problems continue

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price said the south tower jail has been leaking in multiple places during the recent heavy rains and has dozens of other problems. He said a lawsuit is possible against the general contractor, McCarthy, if the problems aren’t fixed soon…..


Rough Road Cracks Up Windshields

Rough Road Cracks Up Windshields

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –From chips to cracks and scratches, some windshields are taking a beating along a span of Highway 99.The problematic roadway is on Highway 99 from Highway 50 to Fruitridge Road.

Two weeks ago, Caltrans ground up Highway 99 as part of a construction project.The problem, according to commuters, and some state officials who did not want to be identified, is that crews left a significant amount of gravel still on the freeway.

Live Oak High School theater contractors faulted on 35 counts

LO theater contractors faulted on 35 counts

Poor workmanship has stalled the Live Oak High School theater project, according to state documents.

Loose screws, dirty drinking fountains and upside-down installations brought the project to a halt last week, and the flurry of infractions -15 in the past three weeks, 35 total – resulted in a second state inspector being assigned to the project, Sept. 8, according to state Department of General Services spokesman Jeffrey Young.

“Upside-down installations”…I’m sure that was the architect/engineer’s fault…come on people…
